High demand for mobile devices seen - The Philippine Star » Business Features » Telecoms: "MANILA, Philippines - If there’s one thing to be gleaned from the latest Gartner global report market on mobile devices, it is that the inhabitants of this world can’t have enough mobile phones.
Halfway through the year, worldwide sales of mobile devices to end-users totaled 428.7 million units, a 16.5 percent increase from the second quarter of 2010, according to Gartner.
Enjoying brisk sales are smartphones which went 74 percent higher year-on-year and accounted for 25 percent of all sales in the second half of the year, up from 17 percent during the same period last year.
